Chakras Made Easy by  Sonia Choquette The following is an excerpt from the "Chakras Made Easy" on-line course. If you would like to enroll in the course,  click here . The concept of chakras comes to us from the yogic literature of the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, thousands of years ago. Chakras are centers of energy found in everyone, and these centers receive, transform and distribute the universal life force throughout the body. As such, chakras play an important part in our physical, emotional and spiritual health. While the traditional chakra system is made up of seven major chakras and several hundred minor chakras, other systems identify additional chakras located above and beyond the uppermost chakra in the traditional system, known as the Crown Chakra. The system described in this course looks at the seven major chakras and their functions. HOW CHAKRAS WORK Each chakra rotates in a spiral vibration, originating outside our auric field and then flows into ...

The Chakras are seven main energy points in the body that run vertically from bottom to top along the spine. They are considered ‘wheels’ of energy that regulate the flow of energy within our body. Chakras are not visible to the human eye, because they  are  energy. However, especially here in the West, you may have seen illustrations of Chakras in the form of ‘yantras’, or geometric symbols, which represent each particular Chakra.

In addition to its yantra illustration, each Chakra is represented by many other details ranging from a specific color, Mantra Sound, Hand Mudra, Earth Element, Crystal, Essential Oil and other correlations. Our Chakras are even directly linked to a specific endocrine gland and organ within our bodies. Realms of duality as interplay of Shiva and Shakti Tantra maintains this view that the experiences of dual realm of reality are the creation of the interplay of consciousness and energy. Michelle Margaret Fajkus Time is— Love is— Death is— And the Wheel turns, And the Wheel turns, And we are all bound to the Wheel. ~ Paul Edwin Zimmer A  chakra  is a “wheel,” an energy center in the body. Nadis are the ethereal tubes that allow prana to move through the body, just as blood moves through blood vessels. Chakras are located at points where nadis intersect; there are said to be 72,000 nadis throughout the body and thousands of chakras. Both the upward current and downward current of energy must be open and flowing for us to be optimally healthy and whole. Anothea Judith writes in her classic guidebook,  The Wheel of Life,  “The liberating current brings us excitement, energy, and novelty, while the descending current brings peace, grace and stability.” There are seven major chakras in tantric yoga philosophy. Here is a quick guide to each of these seven sacred energy centers; may it be of benefit. If you are a beginner  (and...
